Elvis Lives… in Brooklyn

Yesterday Elvis went to Dam, Stuhltrager to see the new Ryan Wolfe installation. The front room is above. Wolfe is researching at DXArts at the University of Washington in Seattle, and making amazing, room-sized installations of things that mimic organic life…in this case, a web of small, fluttering, leaves…but its all wires and circuits and magic.

Elvis and Emma Lee have long ties to the gallery—Emma Lee used to pay money to paint in the basement, where she drew Elvis’s mouth over and over, then shellaced them and stuffed them and sewed them up and put them on the wall. Like so:

After DS, Elvis made the rounds. Shabbat dinner (Lily’s, kosher for passover, but not kosher for life), a whiskey sampler (Kyle’s), and back to the GP. There (Enid’s) Elvis and Emma Lee talked to a Mike-ghost and caught up with an unaffiliated Tom. Tom takes better pictures than Emma Lee ever could, but even Tom couldn’t manage to capture the darkness. So look at his pics in the NYTimes instead.

Day nine. Elvis in a kaffiyeh.

I was at DSG once! There was little redhead pawin me!

I told him: “You ain’t nothin’ but a hound dog,
cryin’ all the time. Well, you ain’t never caught a rabbit and you ain’t no friend of mine.”

He backed off but not before stealin a kiss! So I said:

“When they said you was high classed, well, that was just a lie.”

When he walked away I saw the cutest butt I’d ever seen. Damn, I think I love that fool.
